PINK MIST-CORE
We recommend ALL these bands’ records!
It’s been a good week for prog! Four awesome albums released this week specalising in rock music that is loud, techy and extremely epic! Brace yourselves…
4. Three Trapped Tigers - Route One Or Die (7/10)
Route One Or Die is full the of brain-fryingly intricate electro math rock that we’ve come to expect from this London trio but by pushing themselves furthur into their crazy experimental world, focussing even more on sound scapes, melodies and time signatures makes this debut album an enthralling listen!
Key track: Crammm
3. Maybeshewill - I Was Here For A Moment, Then I Was Gone (8/10)
Billed as the soundtack to an imagined film, the third album from this hard working Leicester based outfit is their most melodically beautiful and epic piece of work to date. To emphazise this more cinematic sound, the band have stepped up a notch in the production department adding a bit more polish and sparkle that creates a totally triumphant listen!
Key track: Accolades
2. Shapes - Montonmy Chic (8/10)
Listening to Shapes has always felt like being smacked in the face in the best possible way, but on their first full length LP these Brummy punksters have made their most rawkus set of hardcore infused math rock to date. It’s fuzzy, melodic, loud as fuck and busting at the seems with attitude and passion. With all the thrills and spills that create Montonmy Chic’s glorious sense of unpredictability, Shapes have out done themselves!
Key track: Allure A Hore
1. Brontide - Sans Soucci (9/10)
A completely mind blowingly epic piece of instrumental post rock; 51 minutes of intricate riffage, multi textured/ loop heavy guitar work, earth shattering bass lines and bone crushing drum work wrapped around strong grooves, math rock workouts, apocalyptic breakdowns to create a beautifully powerful and relentlessly epic piece of work that is sure to make your the hairs on your neck stand up and your eyes pop out!
Key track: Jura
